Part-Time Firefigher / EMT

(CLOSED)

  • FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

    Under the supervision of the Officers the Firefighter performs firefighting of all types including, but not limited to, structural, wildland, vehicle and general rescue, light and heavy extrication, hazardous material response and mitigation, and emergency medical life support procedures to the level of their ability and in accordance with applicable medical protocols, federal, state and local law, and District policies and procedures.

    The Firefighter may be involved in light maintenance of vehicles, apparatus, stations, and grounds; fire prevention programs such as fire safety inspections, code enforcement, and public education; public relations; training activities; and skills maintenance.

    • High School Diploma or GED

    • Valid Drivers License

    • At Least 21 Years of Age at the Time of Hire

    • Minimum 1 Year Experience Working as a Firefighter with a fire department or protection district

    • Valid Healcare Provider CPR Card

    • Colorado or other state equivalent Firefighter I or higher

    • Colorado or other state equivalent Hazmat Operations or higher

    • Valid National Registry or State of Colorado EMT Certification

    • Successfully Complete EVOC training with the District or equivalent training from another agency within 6 months of acceptance of this job description

    • NIMS IS-100/200/700/800

    • Pass the District’s Work Capacity Test as administered by Lyons Fire. Must also complete the NWCG Arduous Work Capacity Test Annually

    • US Citizen or be legally authorized to work in The United States

    • Satisfy All additional requirements listed in the Part-Time Firefighter Job Description

Part-Time Paramedic

(OPEN)

  • FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

    Paramedics may work under direct supervision or independently to provide medical care to sick or injured patients using a variety of medical skills, emergency techniques, and equipment. Paramedics will attend training classes to maintain and improve skills necessary to work in a fire-based EMS system. Paramedics respond as part of a fire response team to emergency calls to perform medical care and transport services in addition to fire ground support for ground cover fires, structure fires, rescues, and hazardous materials incidents. Paramedics will NOT be part of interior fire attack teams nor need to carry any firefighter certifications but may be asked to assist in stretching hose lines, connecting hose to hydrant, and other assigned fireground tasks. Additionally, they assist the public with non-emergency requests or complaints, emergency medical education, community service, and public education.

    • Valid Drivers License

    • At Least 21 Years of Age at the Time of Hire

    • Minimum of 1 year as a Paramedic with an ambulance service or fire department or protection district.

    • Valid Healthcare Provider CPR Card

    • National Registry or State of Colorado EMT-Paramedic Certification.

    • Successfully Complete EVOC training with the District or equivalent training from another agency within 6 months of acceptance of this job description

    • Must pass, or have previously completed, the District’s Work Capacity Test as administered by the District. Must also complete on an annual basis the arduous NWCG Work Capacity Test.

    • NIMS IS-100/200/700/800 within 6 months

    • US Citizen or be legally authorized to work in The United States

    • Satisfy All additional requirements listed in the Part-Time Paramedic Job Description
